Who We Are

Bookbugs was born of the idea that community happens in the cozy corners of shared interest and quiet respect. For us, this means a table, a book, and group of lovely people eager hear what you thought of that ending.

We're a dedicated space for women 21-years and up based in Ashland, Oregon. Our in-person cohort is limited to 12 members at a time, but the online community is uncapped and excited to welcome you at any time.

Together, we’ll choose one new novel to read per month before voting from member nominations on what’s next.

How we Pick

Our member’s involvement in monthly nominations is what makes Bookbugs special. No getting stuck in a cycle of sameness or feeling unheard. Active Bookbugs are encouraged to submit their nominations in the Member’s Hub at any time and we’ll begin to tally the votes. Winning picks will be announced on the fourth Thursday of each month.

Where we Meet

Always in person, always in Ashland. We'll tell you exactly where at least 48 hours ahead to leave plenty of time to find parking and brace for the ending you didn't see coming. Alternatively, you can find us anytime on Facebook and Instagram or in the Bookbugs online community by logging into your Member’s Hub.

How We Got Here

Hi I’m Jayce, initiator of Bookbugs! I moved to Ashland in the summer of 2026 and was so excited to join a local book club. When I couldn’t find quite what I was looking for, I tossed a line out to the internet and found you all.

This community of readers has been beyond welcoming and engaging and I just couldn’t be more grateful for the support of this club.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next meet up!
